Location: Sparx Head Office in Exeter.

Term: Full time, Permanent.

Salary: Competitive (Dependent on qualifications and experience) plus generous company benefits

About the role

Working as a Relationships Executive, you’ll be taking up a key position in our growing team, helping us support schools using our products and providing an excellent end to end customer experience. With great oversight of what’s going on in Sparx and in the classroom, you’ll be the touch point between our internal teams and our school stakeholders. You will be focused on offering the best service possible whilst developing and maintaining sustainable long-term relationships with schools.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining successful relationships between Sparx and key stakeholders such as teachers and heads of department (currently predominantly in maths).
  • Providing support and training for teachers using the Sparx products
  • Collaborating with the team to find out what’s working (and what’s not), listening to the perspective of the teachers and using data insights.
  • Ensuring our service runs smoothly, working proactively to anticipate and appropriately address issues.
  • Identifying ways to improve our products and how appropriately they can be used/deployed within the school environment.
  • Communicating the perspective of the customer to internal teams ensuring that the users are at the heart of our product and development decisions.
  • Communicating difficult messages sensitively to the customer when necessary, maintaining a professional and supportive stance.
  • Gaining customer insight and trust to ensure a long-term sustainable relationship.

About you

You’re looking for an opportunity to use the knowledge and insights you’ve gained through teaching or working with another education technology organisation in a broader capacity. You’ll be able to use your exceptional people skills to work under pressure and build credible relationships with our clients, becoming their go-to person for Sparx.



  • Teaching experience/PGCE or 
  • Account/Customer Relationship Management experience and a deep understanding of the education sector

In addition:

  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK secondary education system and educational technology solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to be tactful and firm
  • Skilled listener, able to pick up on emotional and more subtle cues
  • Very comfortable with technology and willing to learn more
  • Personal drive to deliver results and meet objectives
  • Advanced problem solving skills to create innovative service solutions to customers' needs
  • Organisation skills and attention to detail
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Able to successfully pass a DBS check


  • Degree educated
  • Experience of project management
  • Experience in delivering customer-focused support
